Cementing a Greener Future

Wonder Cement is committed to building a low-carbon, resource-efficient future by reducing emissions, promoting circularity, conserving water and protecting biodiversity across its operations.

Climate Action & Energy Management

OUR FOCUS AREA

Climate Action & Energy Management

We are accelerating our decarbonization journey through renewable energy, waste heat recovery, and energy efficiency initiatives.

  • Our renewable energy footprint is scaling through strategic installations and Power Purchase Agreements.

  • 60 MW WHRS at Nimbahera anchors our strategic path toward RE100 and 60 MW solar installation and 20 MW WHRS at our ongoing Jaisalmer plant project.

  • Strategic infrastructure enhancements contributed to energy savings.

  • A 107 MW solar project in Bikaner, Baap, Phalodi & Dechu.

Circular Economy & Resource Efficiency

OUR FOCUS AREA

Circular Economy & Resource Efficiency

We transform industrial by-products and waste into valuable resources, reducing reliance on virgin raw materials.

  • Approx 3 lakh MT of industrial waste co-processed Annually.

  • Alternative materials replacing conventional raw materials in cement production.

  • Fly ash, red mud, iron sludge, marble slurry, and chemical gypsum integrated into operations.

  • Alternative fuels contributing to reduced fossil fuel consumption.

  • Zero Waste to Landfill: We ensure that waste generated across operations is recycled, reused, co-processed, or safely disposed through authorized channels.

Water Stewardship

OUR FOCUS AREA

Water Stewardship

Water conservation is embedded in our operations through Zero Liquid Discharge, rainwater harvesting, and water recycling practices.

  • Water Positive Organization.

  • 100% Zero Liquid Discharge across operations.

  • Over 15 Lakh m³ of rainwater harvested annually,

Biodiversity Conservation

OUR FOCUS AREA

Biodiversity Conservation

We are committed to enhancing biodiversity and creating greener ecosystems around our operational footprint.

  • 33–36% of operational areas maintained as greenbelts.

  • No operational sites are located within or adjacent to protected wildlife areas or national parks.

  • The Panchafal Udhyan project converted barren land into orchards with 20,000 fruit plants.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our strategic roadmap is set at four major benchmarks: reduction in carbon intensity, a renewable energy matrix, achieving Water Positivity and reaching Plastic Negative status.

To date, we have achieved a decrease in energy intensity and source significant power from renewables. We are currently Water Positive and operate with 100% Zero Liquid Discharge.

We follow a Zero Waste to Landfill mandate. Every year, we co-process external industrial waste, using it as a resource to replace traditional fossil fuels and virgin raw materials in our kilns.

We maintain a "No Net Loss" policy. We dedicate 33–36% of our plant areas to greenbelts and implement a 100% relocation project for mature native trees during any plant expansion.

We treat water as a community resource. By harvesting rainwater annually, we ensure we return significantly more water to the environment than we consume.
