Building for Tomorrow: A Commitment to Sustainable Growth

Sustainability is the strategic pursuit of balancing industrial progress with environmental stewardship and social equity. It ensures that the foundations we lay today preserve the resources and well-being of the nation for generations to come. Our approach is guided by a global ESG framework that benchmarks performance across three critical pillars:

Environmental, social, and governance pillars

01

ENVIRONMENTAL

Minimising ecological footprints through decarbonisation, energy efficiency, and resource circularity

02

SOCIAL

Fostering a safer, more inclusive society through community empowerment and a Zero-Harm workplace culture

03

GOVERNANCE

Ensuring institutional trust through transparent leadership, ethical conduct, and rigorous accountability

Sustainability at Wonder Cement

Wonder Cement has structured its sustainable growth across a 21.5 MTPA cement capacity through three critical pillars: Environment, Social, and Governance. This framework ensures that every ton of cement produced across our operations in multiple states, contributes to a resilient and responsible industrial future.

We are integrating environmental care, social responsibility, and strong governance into our core business. Guided by our values of quality, trust, innovation, and sustainability, we aim to build a future-ready, resilient organization.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Our inaugural Sustainability Report, and it has been prepared in reference to the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) Standards 2021. Furthermore, our reporting is aligned with the Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) framework as mandated by SEBI for top Indian entities.

We have established a multi-decadal decarbonisation roadmap. Our primary goal is to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions intensity by 30% by 2040 and by 50% by 2050, using FY 2023–24 as our baseline. This transition is supported by our commitment to achieve 100% renewable electricity consumption by 2040.

Wonder Cement currently maintains a Water Positive Index. All our integrated plants and grinding units operate under a 100% Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) mandate, ensuring no industrial wastewater is discharged into the environment. Our long-term objective is to reach a 15x Water Positive status by 2050.

In FY 2024-25, we co-processed external industrial waste in our kilns. We achieved an increased Alternative Raw Material (ARM) rate and successfully ensured that significant portion of our total production consists of blended cement. Our target is to achieve Zero Waste to Landfill annually by recycling or treating all generated waste.

ESG is not a siloed function at Wonder Cement; it is a board-level priority. We have established a dedicated ESG Committee that provides supervision on sustainability performance. 100% of our governance body members and employees have received Code of Conduct training, and we have implemented a strict Whistleblower Policy with a zero-retaliation guarantee.

We operate under a Zero Harm mandate. All our sites are assessed for Health & Safety risks and are covered under the ISO 45001:2018 certification. In FY 2024–25, we achieved Zero Fatalities.

We extend our ESG requirements to our partners. Our new suppliers are screened using environmental and social criteria. We have set a target to conduct comprehensive ESG assessments for 100% of our critical suppliers by 2030 to mitigate third-party risks and ensure value-chain integrity.

We are committed to building a more inclusive workforce. Our 2030 targets include increasing women’s representation in our workforce to at least 5% and ensuring that 20% of our Board of Directors are female. Currently, we support local women’s empowerment through Self Help Groups under our Wonder Hunar initiative.
